James F. Robinson started his professional career in San Antonio, Texas producing short films and documentaries via his company, White Lion Pictograph. Moving to Los Angeles in the mid 1990s he wrote directed and produced the Independent Romance Still Breathing (1997) in association with Seattle Pacific Investments. The film played in film festivals around the world and was released theatrically by October Films (now Focus Films) in the US, and by Paramount (UK), Disney (Australia), Delon (S, Asia), Fox Latin America, Helkon (Central Europe), Arum Pd. (Spain), Cinema Service (Korea) and Ashe Continental (Africa). Lakeshore International handled foreign sales duties. Robinson founded new media company, CinemaElectric in 1999 and served as its CEO. The company developed a new kind of programming for mobile phones called "Pocket Cinema". PocketCinema was distributed via mobile phones in more than 50 countries. After the company went public, Robinson left in 2006 to resume his filmmaking career. Recently, Robinson created and executive produced a groundbreaking form of interactive television, TextMe-TV for Active Loop Television. The show is currently running regionally in preparation for a national launch. Robinson's early work includes dramatic television films ("Music Box", "The Estate Sale") and documentaries ("Miracle of Taxila", "Tinsel") as well as music videos, corporate films and commercials. His early work has been seen on PBS, The Disney Channel, The Discovery Network, The Family Channel and a variety of European Networks. Jim also founded and directed an improvisational theater company in San Antonio, "Improv-a-Rama", which has been performing since 1990.
